Colour trends from NZ House and Garden magazine
Stormy blues are a timeless choice.
Blue is one of the most timeless colours around, returned to again and again by Kiwi decorators. Particularly popular at the moment are Resene stormy blues – those intriguingly moody colours that are a mix of blue, grey and green. They are such versatile shades and can be used as a dark neutral, paired with a number of other colours and accents, and in a variety of interior styles. For example, teamed with white, rattan and timber floors, this home office nook has a relaxed vibe and Hamptons-style charm. You could add terracotta accents for a contemporary twist, red for nautical nattiness, a pale grey-blue for a beachy look, or palms and a jute rug for a tropical feel. Whichever way you go, know that stormy blues will be a steadfast ingredient of any interior scheme.
