Create a classic Cape Cod look for a front door and entranceway. Nothing says relaxed beach style more than a range of soft blues, pale greys and seafoam whites. Misty grey and watery blue work as replacements for icy white yet allow stronger colours to come and go as features, or to marry with more grounded tones in warm browns and sandy taupes. They also work as part of a tonal scheme, ranging from a soft duck-egg blue through to deep stormy blue or graphite.

Tip:  Rather than search the stores for planters to match your scheme, just paint pots using Resene testpots. You’re sure to find a colour that works.
