Colour it upThe Carr family had talked about decorating the nursery and they really wanted to do something different, not just a few bright colours and wall decals. They had just finished a large extension on the front of their house, had gutted most of the inside and redecorated, so they had a clean slate to start with in the nursery. Michelle started drawing and pretty soon had a rough idea of what she was going to paint. She also discovered that old unused wallpaper with a bright coat of green paint in varying shades made excellent textured leaves for the canopy and gave the room more of a 3D look. The metallic paint was great for the flowers and just gave them that little bit extra oomph to help them stand out. Michelle used 3-4 different colours for each of the grasses around the bottom, which very effectively brightened things up. All in all, the project turned out even better than Michelle expected, a great result after her careful attention to detail. Most of the colours Michelle chose came from the Resene KidzColour collection and include: Resene Snap (background), Resene Lickety Split, Resene Dizzy Lizzy, Resene Wham, Resene Top Secret, Resene Kermit and Resene Grass Stain (leaf canopy), Resene Lickety Split, Resene Wham, Resene Grass Stain and Resene Kermit (grass and plants), Resene Bedazzle, Resene Snap, Resene White and Resene Rubber Duck (flowers), Resene Milk Chocolate, Resene Jambalaya, Resene Cinnamon and Resene Brown Sugar (trees), Resene Jambalaya, Resene Cinnamon and Resene Brown Sugar (signs and doors), Resene Mission Brown (writing), Resene Toffee and Resene Mission Brown (dirt), Resene Gobstopper, Resene Snap and Resene Rubber Duck (honeypot), Resene Quarter Spanish White (ceilings), Resene Half Spanish White (doors and architraves). Outside their home is finished in Resene Stonehenge, Resene Spanish White and Resene Grey Friars.
