Something to smile about

This master bedroom proved to be the trickiest room to choose colour for. Jade and Sean wanted the room to feel calm and relaxing, and definitely knew white was off the list. It was only on the day of painting that they finally decided on Resene Rascal.

Jade couldn't believe Sean, her partner, had chosen this colour, as it has quite a feminine feel to it. It is a difficult colour to describe literally - when Jade thinks of it, she thinks of summer, flowers blooming, and a sense of holiday mode.

The colour looks amazing in all light, and it exudes different tones depending on where the sun is. Jade loves this aspect of it, as it appears that the room slightly changes colour throughout the day, and draws your eyes to follow the sun pattern as the day passes, both capturing and showcasing its earthy undertones. It creates an atmosphere of serenity and still makes Jade smile 18 months later, as well as getting a ‘wow’ out of new guests.
