Meant to be

The Walker’s home was all beige with wood throughout and they wanted it all gone!

Mirror and wallpaper

They moved downstairs while the lounge and bedroom were renovated. The only bit of colour was a white mirror that was painted red, now repainted to a beautiful gold using Resene Apache and Resene Gold Dust to complement the new room.

The lounge and bedroom had a lot of wood - all skirting boards, architraves, window seat, door frames and door. They wanted both rooms to be fresh and to have colour. After spending time poring through the wallpaper books at their Resene ColorShop, two feature wallpapers were chosen, one for each room, complemented by Resene Black White for the walls and ceiling.

A friend helped co-ordinate the colours of the paint, blinds, cushions and mirror. They discovered that a few months earlier she had actually sent the Walkers a picture of that wallpaper from Resene’s Instagram. It was meant to be.

The window seat squab cover was re-upholstered in a lovely light pink to match the colourful cushions. Once the painting started, it was colour love at first sight.

These two rooms are so delightful to be in that they are now arranging for the rest of the house to be painted.
