First choice wins

Welcome to Nancy’s first home and her love of the challenge of tackling small DIY projects.

Nancy started in the bedroom by revamping the wardrobes, ripping up the old yellow carpet and sanding back the wooden floors, installing shelving and painting. Cleverly Nancy thought what better place to start painting, than the wardrobe. She knew if things went awry, she could just close the door! This first project gave her the confidence to start the bedroom.

Nancy loves the cosy vintage feel of her home and wanted to stay true to that for the room. She chose Resene Sea Nymph for the walls, which is fresh and bright with the morning sun, and warm and comforting at night. Nancy loves going to sleep in it at night and waking up in the morning!

With a lifetime love of blues and greens, it was hard to narrow it down to just one. Nancy had a wall covered in testpot swatches that she asked her friends and family which they preferred. She found everyone had differing opinions so in the end she stuck with her original choice. She teamed it with Resene White on the ceiling and skirting boards.

Nancy is now looking forward to painting the other areas of the house and will definitely be using colours.
