A room for Lincoln

He has moderate cerebral palsy mainly affecting his legs and some of the rest of his body. He uses a walking frame, sticks and a wheelchair.

Angela wanted to update the mural that had been previously painted, adding a volcano with beautiful lava painted by the children using Resene Havoc. The fuel pump is hand painted too.

The bookcase, desk and fuel pump pipe all do double duty as grab rails/supports for Lincoln so he doesn't have to use his equipment in his room. The bookcase needed to be pre-distressed and the other areas have an industrial feel to them which can take the knocks.

Angela also replaced the natural timber windowsills and painted them this time for better longevity and painted the doors. Resene Magnetic Magic paint as a basecoat under the road on the mural means it can be interactive. There is a spaceship inside the wardrobe with a curved mirrored ceiling and plenty of things to play with. There is also Resene Magnetic Magic paint behind the inside of the spaceship.

The room was originally painted in Resene Half Pearl Lusta but the update included changing the walls to Resene Zylone Sheen in Resene Double Alabaster to match the rest of the house and brighten it up. The doors/window sills are painted in Resene Lustacryl semi-gloss waterborne enamel in Resene Licorice to match the curtain fabric, while the skirting is Resene Rice Cake and the bookcase Resene Silver Tree over Resene Eastern Blue.

The whole room now looks awesome and cohesive and is popular with children.
