Separating spaces with colour

spaces with colour

Fiona and Christ painted their home aiming to use colour to separate the different living spaces in their open plan house.

Fiona loves colour, so there was no way they were sticking to a neutral palette. They wanted their house to reflect their personalities, and to showcase the eclectic mix of treasures they've collected on their travels together.

Fiona and Chris chose Resene Eastern Blue for the lounge. It took many testpot trials to find the perfect blue-green that Fiona had imagined, but it was definitely worth it. There is a real energy in this room, and it makes the art pop.

Resene Pale Prim is used in the kitchen, which brings a lovely lightness to this corner of the room.

They used Resene Black for the dining room and library area. The black is the perfect backdrop for their Mexican wall, and bright upcycled furniture.

They have always used Resene paints to upcycle vintage furniture that they've collected. The legs of the floral kitchen stool are painted in Resene Pale Prim, the vintage lamp in Resene Aqua and Resene Gold Dust was used on the plant pedestal as well as the lampshade, with Resene Surfs Up on the three nested tables.
