Take the bold path

They then had to repaint the architraves in a colour to match the framing and what would one day be an overhaul of interior paint colours.

Kelly had always wanted white subway tiles with grey grout so choosing a colour scheme to match that was the challenge. They originally had wooden native flooring which had to be tiled over due to discolouration under the polyurethane on the flooring. Kelly went to the local tile shop and chose a floor tile and then marched down to the Resene ColorShop in Rotorua and asked for extensive advice from the staff.

They matched the floor tile with the architrave colour and framing colour and suggested a dark grey to offset the white of the wall tiles and the shower, bath and vanity. Keri chose a Resene Half Jumbo in a testpot (despite staff advising to be bold and go darker). A day later Keri went back and purchased full Resene Jumbo and took the bold path – the perfect colour for the space.
