Dividing the colours

Heidi and her family moved into their new house and decided to renovate slowly and to tackle a room each year and modernise it.

She wanted to start with her daughter's room because she already had an idea for the room. The room had bright yellow wallpaper and cream ceilings and trim, so the wallpaper came off and then fresh new white paint went on the window and trim.

Heidi knew she was going to use pink and went about finding the one she liked – Resene Sakura from the Resene The Range fashion colours fandeck and bought a testpot to be sure.

As a feature wall she wanted to add something to break up the pink so she looked at different ideas on the internet and taped up the wall with masking tape dividing it into four segments. Heidi chose three other various shades of grey (Resene Bokara Grey, Resene Wireless and Resene Triple Black White) to finish the room and used a large segment of the light grey, two darker greys and the Resene Sakura pink to bring it all together.

Heidi and her daughter both love the end result, especially as her daughter's favourite colour is pink.
