Kirsty and James have added touches of colour through their 1930s state house, including on their new addition/renovation project.
In their living area they have painted Resene Eastern Blue (walls) and Resene Half Alabaster (ceiling and trim).
In the renovated kitchen the cabinets that remained were repainted in Resene Quarter Black White over the original rimu. The island was added with a natural stone top. The walls were painted in Resene Rice Cake over the original Resene Aubergine colour and the ceiling in Resene Half Alabaster, to match the living room ceiling finish.
The renovated bathroom was created by combining two rooms. To separate the lower and upper walls they added a gold feature, offset by black and white flooring and Resene William (lower walls) and Resene Half Alabaster (upper walls and ceiling). The skylight provides excellent lighting to what is now an internal room.
Other rooms also have their own colour personalities with Resene Lima in the TV room, Resene Sangria in the sitting room, Resene Blue Lagoon and Resene Quarter Black White in a bedroom and a hallway in Resene Coriander.
Outside the ends of the house are complete contrasts. The front of the house retains its brick façade, whereas the rear appears as a totally different weatherboard appearance. They have used Resene Quarter Ship Grey, Resene Saltpan (soffits), Resene Ship Grey (fascia) and a roof in FlaxPod.
Thanks to Kirsty and James.
