‘Aunt Maisy’ is the persona of the house where Selma and her family live. She is an old adorable abode, happy to wear her favourite pale yellow frock for a little over a decade. Every now and then she likes to change the colour of her accessories when they show signs of wear and tear. She decided to update her colours over summer when her favourite geranium bloomed and her inhabitants could help her with a mini makeover.
Selma and her family were happy to oblige considering how much protection and tolerance Aunt Maisy has provided, especially during the earthquakes in past years. ‘Aunt Maisy’ never let them down.
Aunt Maisy's taste in colours matures as she gets older and wiser. She now informally greets visitors with a fresh pop of Resene Havoc, like a beaming smile the door invites people to come in. She may even offer a spot of Resene Tea before you have a chance to step inside. She does show her age in places, some of her skin has the quality of Resene Half Parchment.
Nevertheless, Aunt Maisy is a practical old girl with easy-going charm. She has Resene Ironsand for the front porch, a practical colour choice for foot traffic. It reminds Selma of a shiny new pair of old lady grey pumps.
