Rainbow room

Aroha worked with her young daughter to paint a mural over the brown wall in her room.

They did a lot of drawings and had discussions around what colours would go into it as well as what the layout would be and what images she wanted there to be. In the end, the design she came up with is a scene of night and day, with a rainbow prominently placed in the middle sitting on two clouds, with a pegasus and stars in the night time and a phoenix in the day time.

They used a lot of the Resene KidzColour range of colours; Resene Yeehaa for the daytime background, Resene Trinidad, Resene Unicorn, Resene Snap, Resene Wham, Resene Fizz, Resene Razzamatazz, Resene Funtasia, Resene Glitterbug, Resene Slipper and Resene Zoop De Loop for the rainbow, clouds, pegasus, phoenix and stars. The night time background colour is Resene Deep Space from the Resene metallics range, while the pink in the alcove is Resene Princess.

After they painted the wall and alcove, they painted the bedroom furniture with the leftover colours. All in all, it was a satisfying project to complete; Aroha's daughter is so happy and proud of it and it is so colourful and bright that Aroha can't help smiling every time she sees it!
