Character fullOozing with character and incredible potential, the Horsfield family were seduced by the lovely bones of their 100 year old Edwardian villa. She was grand, mysterious, enchanting, and they both had the vision of who she would become. Like a butterfly from her cocoon they transformed her by giving her wings the most delicious Resene colours inside and out. Schamet loves coffee and chocolate so it was appropriate for their kitchen to tantalize the taste buds with Resene Espresso, which melts into the rich and bold Resene Burnt Crimson in the front living area. Their bedroom is one of their favorite colour schemes. It starts with a royal blue called Resene Decadence which turns into a zingy turquoise called Resene Eastern Blue and then gradually blends into a passionate purple called Resene Paris M towards the ceiling. The ceiling is also painted Resene Paris M and the plasterwork is painted with Resene Half Spanish White. To add depth, Schamet painted the background plaster with Resene Half Spanish White and the raised flowers with Resene Quarter Spanish White. A subtle sunset painted along the skirting using Resene testpots completes the look. They chose a brilliant green called Resene Camarone in their study on the feature wall with the window as it brings the outside foliage in. The rest of the walls in the study were painted Resene Spanish White. The bathroom was to have a Mediterranean/Egyptian feel to it and this was achieved using Resene Quarter Spanish White on the walls and Resene Spanish White on the ceiling. Schamet again created depth with the plasterwork by painting the background plaster with Resene Spanish White and the detailing with Resene Quarter Spanish White. On the feature wall she sponged on different shades of blue and metallic copper to create the effect which makes the wall look like the tiles in the bathroom which reminds you of the Egyptian stone Lapis Lazuli. The outside of their house looked like a haunted house before they repainted with terrible pinkish/orange paint peeling off everywhere. They repainted using Resene Double Fossil for most of the base of the home, Resene Half Fossil for trim and Resene Quarter Fossil for the decking rails. They used Resene Burnt Crimson for the doors and trim on the windows as well as Resene Magik and Resene metallic copper for character trimmings. This home is painted using Resene paints inside and out. Every room, very wall, every ceiling, is Resene paint. And Schamet did it all. She designed and painted every room, every ceiling, she even refurbished most of the wood using Resene Danska Teak Oil. And needless to say she's very proud of the results!
