In love with pink

The starting point was to make a feature of the sliding door in their daughter’s room.  They fell in love with a vibrant pink called Resene Smitten and used it to paint the door inside her room and painted an old desk, stool and mirror in white to make a contrast against the pink.

They also painted metallic Resene Sugar And Spice on the drawer and to accentuate the detail on the mirror. Then the desk, chair and mirror were given a final coat of Resene Pearl Shimmer, a clear gloss with pearlescent flakes to give it sparkly finish.

They loved the pink paint so much they decided to use it on other parts of the room as well.  After months looking for wallpaper to go with the paint, they finally found a gorgeous black and silver wallpaper at Resene (Shadows on the wall) that looks quilted and has a 3D effect. To link the wallpaper with the pink paint, they glued pink rhinestones onto the wallpaper in all the quilted parts.  The finished effect looks amazing with the pink paint reflecting a pink hue onto the wallpaper.
