My Colourful World with Wayne Good

Interior designer Wayne Good is passionate about colour, antiques and food, culminating in a home he describes as evoking a sense of ‘WOW, because that’s what I hear when people enter, it’s welcoming and very interesting.’ We talk to him about his vibrant use of colour.

Tell us about how you use colour in your home?

I use colour in my home in generous proportions; however nothing is ever permanent, I do like change. I like to use colours on the walls that enhance all the beautiful objects, fabrics and rugs in each rooms.

How important is colour cohesion?

Colour cohesion is important to a point, however I like to mix it up, think Resene Powder Blue, with Resene Shadowy Blue from the Karen Walker Paints collection for a calming layered effect, then add an accent of Resene Crisp Green to achieve a sharpness. This is achieved by years of experience, however it’s always important to look at what already exists and to work with it, formulating a plan before you fire ahead.
