The Resene Classic Collection is a selection of favourite Resene colours that people are drawn to time and time again and they’re sure to please even the most discriminating of tastes – but, just because you’re using classic colours doesn’t mean you can’t work with them in a contemporary way.
This lounge strikes an ideal balance between trendy and timeless, with colours from the Resene Classic Collection blended with today’s popular pinks and greens. Each of the colours within the room was inspired by the paint used in the artwork so that the whole space would feel cohesive.
The top half of the feature wall is painted Resene Pewter and the bottom half is in Resene Karaka to provide a sense of grounding without making the lounge feel too dark. The outside of the tall bookcase is painted soft Resene Soothe, including the front edges of each of the shelves, while the inside is painted Resene Eagle. Within the bookcase, an assortment of vases, bowls and planters have been painted Resene Karaka, Resene Pewter, Resene Soothe, Resene Bud and Resene Just Dance to directly connect them to the artwork.
To echo the visual texture of the artwork, plenty of soft tactile textures have also been brought into the space, including the velvet sofa and cushions, a woven cotton throw, a knotted berber rug and fresh plants. Together with the colour scheme, they work together to build an especially cosy space to relax after a long day.
