There’s a reason why deep cool colours are so popular for bedrooms – with their cocooning, calming nature, they are very conducive to a good night’s sleep.
The colour used on this wall, Resene Porter, is a delicious faded black. Not quite charcoal and by using Resene SpaceCote Flat paint, it has been given a velvety, tactile look that’s perfect for a bedroom, and adds a touch of luxe.
Teamed with white and grey accents, the room is sophisticated and versatile – just add an on-trend accent colour like ochre, which is easily swapped out as fashion changes. In the alternative look for this room, Resene Cleopatra is used to paint a plant pot, and an ochre-coloured euro pillowcase is popped into the bedlinen mix. The headboard is actually made of a pre-framed oriental screen finished in Resene Colorwood Light Greywash – easy, striking and cost-effective. It is echoed by a floor finished in the darker greywash version, Resene Colorwood Mid Greywash. These greywashes add an elegant, aged look to any room or timber surface.
