Going big and bold doesn't mean you'll end up with walls that scream at you – it might be a breath-taking mountain range, a pretty botanic print or a slab of exotic marble, like the one below.

For more impact, choose a colourful oversized design or a mural using photographic imagery. There are beach scenes, deserts, rainforests, city skylines, tropical islands and layers of painterly brushstrokes... pretty much anything you can think of.
