Embrace your artistic side with murals and glow-in-the-dark walls

With the wide range of Resene paints and colours, and your imagination, it’s possible to create a truly unique effect on your walls, floor, ceiling, furniture or virtually anything else. It can be as simple as a tonal mural of hills in a fiord, a welcoming ‘hello’ message in your hall or take a leaf out of nature with a colourful plant mural or succulent designs of houseplants.

Pick the right product

A coat of Resene Concrete Clear or Resene SpaceCote Clear may be applied to the finished paint effect to alter the gloss level and/or add durability to the finish.

When using Resene Walk-on to create a coloured effect on flooring, finish with Resene Concrete Wax.

A clear finish is recommended for all paint effects finishes in high contact and wear and tear areas to protect the effects finish from damage.

If painting a large scale artwork outdoors, consider using Resene Clearcoat UVS to help protect against fading or Resene Uracryl GraffitiShield to help protect against graffiti.

DIY art 

Resene testpots are perfect as artist’s paints. Try a grid of simple artworks (below left) painted in Resene All Black and hung on a Resene Licorice wall. Or these retro canvases (below middle) in Resene Liberty (try Resene Seachange), Resene Half Dusted Blue, Resene Bubble N Squeak (try Resene Chino), Resene Triple Sea Fog, Resene Double Pravda (try Resene Kabul) and Resene Alabaster.
