In our open-plan living spaces, dining tables are often left to float, unanchored, somewhere between the kitchen and the sitting area.
In this example, designed by Wellington architect John Mills, the dining area is cleverly defined by a feature wall that grows organically out of the kitchen cabinetry. Yet this same half-wall device focusses squarely on the table with its built-in cabinetry, sparkling downlights, art space and pelmet effect.
