Step-by-step instructions

Step 1  Wipe chairs down with a soft cloth to remove any dust or dirt.

Step 2  With a small brush, paint frames with Resene Enamacryl Metallic. We used Resene Silver Aluminium. We chose not to use a base coat in order to achieve a brushed-metal effect, but for a smooth finish, undercoat first in Resene Lumbersider.

Step 3  To protect the metallic finish, topcoat the frames in Resene Multishield+ (for outdoor use) or Resene Aquaclear (for indoor use).

Step 4  Paint wicker with Resene Enamacryl Gloss Waterborne Enamel. An old paintbrush works best to get between the woven strands. We chose Resene Flamingo for a burst of brightness.
