Avocado stool

It’s easy to transform a plain wooden stool into a glossy retro feature using Resene Super Gloss enamel.

Difficulty level: Modrate

You will need: Clean cloths, mineral turps, paintbrushes, paint stirrers, Resene Interior Paintwork Cleaner, Resene Paint Pot, Resene Super Gloss enamel tinted to Resene Avocado, Resene Wood Primer, sandpaper, wooden stool.

To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Flat tinted to Resene Coconut Cream.

Other ideas: For a bright yellow effect paint the stool with Resene Fizz. You can use Resene Enamacryl if you prefer a waterborne finish.

Step one
Thoroughly clean the stool with Resene Interior Paintwork Cleaner.

Step two
Lightly sand the legs of the stool.

Step three
Wipe off any sanding residue with a clean cloth.

Step four
Carefully stir the Resene Wood Primer.

Step five
Apply one coat of Resene Wood Primer to the legs and underside of the stool and allow to dry.

Step six
Carefully stir the Resene Super Gloss enamel tinted to Resene Avocado.

Step seven
Apply one coat of Resene Super Gloss enamel tinted to Resene Avocado to the legs and underside of the stool and allow to dry. Apply a second coat if necessary and allow to dry.
