It’s easy to give an old wooden garden bench a new lease of life with a little bit of help from Resene.

Fun with furniture with Mark Rayner - Project 53
Difficulty level: Moderate
You will need: Bucket, garden hose with clean running water, mineral turps, paintbrush, paint stirrer, Resene Moss & Mould Killer, Resene paint pot, Resene Timber and Deck Wash, Resene Woodsman tinted to Resene Natural rubber gloves, stiff-bristled brush, wooden bench.
To get the look: Mark painted the background fence with Resene Enamacryl tinted to Resene Sponge.
Other ideas: For a rich red effect, stain the wooden bench with Resene Woodsman tinted to Resene Totem Pole.
