A darker Resene Colorwood wood stain on the flooring also enhances the depth of a space for a strong foundation that anchors the room. Real foliage and natural materials like jute and ceramics bring an organic, textural element, reinforcing the connection to nature and adding a vibrancy to the scene. The result is a space that feels both deeply rooted and effortlessly serene.
Warm, grounding and full of character, deep, earthy reds like Resene Avant Garde with golden accents like Resene Fuel Yellow feel both bold and cocooning. In contrast, a fresher pastoral green, paired with natural wood furniture and flooring, creates a softer, more organic warmth.
Whether leaning into the richness of deep tones or embracing the lightness of wood and greenery, these hues bring a sense of stability and comfort – grounding in every sense of the word.
Try other grounding hues such as Resene Redwood, Resene Scoria, Resene West Coast and Resene Scrub.
top tip Use Resene Colorwood in deep, rich tones like Resene Deep Oak, Resene Matai or Resene English Walnut to enhance timber flooring or furniture, adding warmth and depth to complement layered greens. For easy cleaning, finish with Resene Aquaclear to protect and highlight the natural beauty of the wood grain. If an au naturel timber finish is preferred, apply Resene Aquaclear Natural direct to timber to protect its good looks.
