Keep New Zealand Beautiful recognises that every corner of our built environment has a unique story. To celebrate this Keep New Zealand Beautiful, with the help of Resene and Panasonic, launched Wall Worthy.
Zone 1 (Northern North Island)
Wall Worthy celebrates our communities local legends and unheard stories in a way that will visually improve the built environment. Keep New Zealand Beautiful has been running a competition where local communities, schools and individuals were asked to submit what makes their town unique. The winning entries received vouchers from Resene to enable their mural to be painted on a wall/building within their town and runners up will received product from Panasonic.
Submissions from all over the country were received. Head judge Oliver Maisey, creative director of McCann Worldgroup said “Judging proved to be much tougher than anticipated. What came through clearly was the love and pride each entrant had for their region, and the time, care, and attention to detail each person had put into expressing this was staggering. Judging the entries was a wonderful experience, and well done to everyone who took part.” Due to the high standard of entries, the judges decided to award ‘runners up’ in some regions.
