Background to mural creation:
To inspire the children and educate them about the smaller details of our very special New Zealand wilderness, Jil of Aotearoa developed a mural at Kowhai Special School and Resource Centre at the request of Carmel Hoetawa. The mural depicts native and common flora and fauna of Aotearoa and the local landscape of the Hawkes Bay.
