Background to mural creation:
As a team Creative Te Puke thought it was important to encourage the young people of Te Puke to take pride in their town. Creative Schools has had eight schools complete their murals. The project has grown and looks set to become a biannual activity. The murals will be taken down from town and returned to the schools to be hung there with new ones being painted to replace them in town. Schools involved: Fairhaven Primary, Te Puke Primary, Otamarakau Primary, Paengaroa Primary, Pukehina Primary, Te Ranga School, Rangiuru Primary, Pongakawa Primary, Maketu Primary, Te Puke Intermediate, Te Puke High School, Te Kura Kaupapa o Te Matai.
