Background to mural creation:
Waiau Playcentre was built post-earthquake on a new site. Given the centre is new, they are in the exciting phase of establishing an identity, both for the families at centre and within the community. The mural reflects the fondest memories from past and present children. It is vibrant, welcoming and the careful colour selection and graphic style are timeless, to be enjoyed for years to come.
