Mural Masterpieces - Oteha Valley SchoolAn entry from Oteha Valley School in the Resene Mural Masterpieces competition 2015

Location:
Oteha Valley School, Medallion Drive, Albany, Auckland.

Team:
Jennifer Kim, Orpita Khan, Taine Holloway, Ashley Yates, Valencia Winiata, Christina Morrison and Sherryl Prangley.

Accessible to public:
Yes.

Mural theme:
Breathing life into learning (school motto).

Background to mural creation:
The school has just been through a very long process of remediation following a ‘leaking building’ fix up. Now that is complete they can start working on the environment. This is the first mural and there are plans to do many more to brighten up the grounds and give students, whanau and community something to be proud of.

The school motto is ‘Breathing life into learning’. It was taken from one of the known meaning/translations of Oteha as found in the community history. The mural was inspired by this motto.
