Maori gardening.
Background to mural creation:
This mural was created to communicate through the visual arts and digital curriculum to the school and wider community about the history of Maori gardening in the local area and Aotearoa. Through the inquiry the students hoped to discover what tools were used for gardening, what foods were grown and the importance of Matariki when harvesting crops. This mural will be interactive through a QR code that can be scanned. The mural represents the rich culture and concept of whanaungatanga.
