Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 52

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: A brown paper bag, Paintbrushes (including an artists’ brush), Resene Quick Dry waterborne primer undercoat, Resene testpots of Resene Alabaster, Resene Limelight and Resene Nero, Scissors

Top tip: For safety reasons, always make sure you use a paper bag and never a plastic bag to make this mask.

Here's another idea: Create a kooky clown mask using testpots of Resene Alabaster, Resene Clowning Around, Resene Havoc, and Resene Nero.

Step 1

Carefully cut the handles off the paper bag using the scissors.
Step 2

Cut two eye holes in the front of the paper bag, as shown - you might need to get a grown-up to help with these first two steps.
Step 3

Carefully apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the outside of the paper bag and allow to dry for one hour.
Step 4
Step four
Carefully paint the paper bag with two coats of Resene Limelight, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 5
Step five
Using an artists’ brush, paint in the hair and face details with Resene Nero and allow to dry for two hours.
Step 6
Step six
Using a smaller artists’ brush, paint in the teeth with Resene Alabaster. Leave to dry for two hours, then put on your mask and get spooking!
