Christmas candle holder

Create this fabulous gold centrepiece for a Christmas dinner table with a little bit of help from Resene.

You will need

To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen tinted to Resene Koromiko.

Other ideas: Try a stunning cool silver/blue combination using Resene Scotty Silver over a basecoat of Resene Heather.

How to make a Christmas candle holder

Step 1

Using a stiff-bristled brush, clean off any dirt and dust from the pinecones.
Step 2
Step two
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the pinecones and allow two hours to dry.
Step 3
Step three
Apply one coat of Resene Porsche to the pinecones and allow two hours to dry.
Step 4
Step four
Apply one coat of Resene Bullion to the pinecones and allow two hours to dry.
Step 5
Step five
Apply a second coat of Resene Bullion to the pinecones and allow two hours to dry.
Step 6
Step six
Apply two coats of Resene Aquaclear to the pinecones, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 7
Step seven
Stick the candles to the base of the glass bowl with blu-tack and arrange the pinecones around the base, as shown.
Step 8
Step eight
Arrange the tinsel around the edge of the glass bowl, as shown.

Always ensure lit candles are under adult supervision. Always extinguish all candles before going to sleep. Replace candles when they are at least 20mm from the top edge of the candleholder.
