Create this stylish textured glass candle holder using Resene metallic paint and Resene Sandtex.
Resene art with Mark Rayner - Project 40
Difficulty level: Moderate
You will need: Candle, glass vase, glass pebbles, small wooden dish, paintbrushes (including an artists’ brush), PVA glue, Resene Enamacryl Metallic (now Resene FX Metallic) Scotty Silver, Resene Multishield+ gloss (now Resene Concrete Clear), Resene Sandtex Mediterranean effect tinted to Resene Heather, Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer.
To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Flat waterborne enamel tinted to Resene Mariner.
Other ideas: Create a sumptuous gold metallic effect using a base coat of Sandtex tinted to Resene Porsche and two topcoats of Resene Bullion.
Always ensure lit candles are under adult supervision. Always extinguish all candles before going to sleep. Replace candles when they are at least 20mm from the top edge of the candleholder.
