Step 1
Step one
Cut plywood to the dimensions listed above and smooth any rough edges with sandpaper. Attach the back panel to the two sides (flush with the top of each shortest edge), fixing with nails and PVA glue.
Step 2
Step two
Attach the base to the sides (positioning 22mm in from the back edge), and attach the front to the base and sides, as shown. Fix with nails and PVA glue.
Step 3
Step three
Attach the top to the back panel and sides, allowing an overhang of approximately 50mm along the front edge. Fix with nails and PVA glue.
Step 4
Step four
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the back flap, and the inside and outside of the mailbox. Leave to dry for two hours.
Step 5
Step five
Apply two coats of Resene Paua to the back flap, and the inside and outside of the mailbox (except for the front panel). Leave each coat to dry for two hours. Fix the back flap into position with the stainless steel hinges.
Step 6
Step six
Apply two coats of Resene Havoc (in a strip measuring approximately 50mm) down the left hand side of the front panel.
Step 7
Step seven
Use the masking tape to mask off a stripe measuring 43mm, and apply two coats of Resene West Side (again, in a strip measuring approximately 50mm). Remove the masking tape before the second coat dries. Repeat this step using Resene Broom followed by Resene Japanese Laurel, Resene Resolution Blue, Resene Bullitt, and Resene Christalle.
Step 8
Step eight
Attach the brass number to the centre of the front panel, using screws provided, and attach the latch to the back flap.
