Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 25

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: 2 toilet roll tubes, Artists’ brushes, Paper plates, PVA glue, Scissors, Sticky tape, Resene testpots in the following colours: Resene Alabaster, Resene Black, Resene Curious Blue and Resene Shocking

Top tip: Attach string to the back with sticky tape and hang the mask up on your bedroom wall or even wear it to a fancy dress party!

Here's another idea: This bear mask was made using Resene Supernova, Resene Alabaster and Resene Black – and his nose is an old testpot lid.

Step 1
Step one
Using the scissors cut two eyeholes in one paper plate and two large elephant ears from another paper plate. Fix the ears to the mask with sticky tape.
Step 2
Step two
Stick the two toilet roll tubes together at an angle with sticky tape to form the trunk and glue the trunk to the mask with PVA glue. Let the glue dry thoroughly.
Step 3
Step three
Paint the entire mask with two coats of Resene Shocking, leaving two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 4
Step four
Decorate the elephant mask using Resene Black for the face details and Resene Alabaster and Resene Curious Blue for the eyes.
