Kitty box

It’s easy to create this cool cat box for all your little treasures using a cardboard box and a few Resene testpots.

Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 113

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: Paintbrushes, Plywood cut-out of a cat (ours came from ‘Spotlight’), PVA glue Small cardboard box with lid, Resene Art Action Quick Dry, Resene testpots of Resene Mariner and Resene Trinidad

Top tip: If you don’t have a plywood cat, simply draw your own shape on a piece of cardboard and it cut out with scissors.

Here's another idea: This lucky black cat box was painted with Resene Nero and Resene Retro.

Step 1
Step one
Glue the cat cut-out to the lid of the box with PVA glue and allow to dry
Step 2
Step two
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the box and cat shape and allow to dry for two hours.
Step 3
Step three
Apply two coats of Resene Mariner to the box, painting around the cat shape, as shown. Allow two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 4
Step four
Paint the cat with two coats of Resene Trinidad and allow to dry. That’s so cool!
