Kate has been creating art her entire life. She took art and art history throughout secondary school and studied Design and Commerce at Otago University. She thought she could make more money with Commerce so that won out for 13 years but being at home with two small children she has found time again for art and studying Graphic Design.
As long as Kate can remember she has concentrated on drawing female portraits. In fact she still has some she did as a 10 year old. She gets inspired by "awesome Resene colours and different jewellery and clothing items" that she sees in magazines and on friends etc.
She often uses a Resene colour as her starting point, usually as a background colour, and then designs her painting around it.
A wide range of artists are using Resene paints in their work, on everything from interior paintings to tactile artworks and mural masterpieces.
