Fiona Ehn Art

Fiona runs her art practice from her studio just north of Auckland. She has always been drawn to creating as an outlet to give her more balance in life - whether it's painting, designing living spaces or making things with textiles. Fiona is primarily a self-taught artist, specialising in unique mixed media artworks created with loads of texture, bold colours and a quirky and upbeat twist.

Being an avid traveller, Fiona is constantly exploring the world for inspiration; however she particularly enjoy creating pieces that draw on the uniqueness and beauty of Aotearoa. She loves painting life forms and much of her inspiration has been influenced by living rurally – in particular the local bird, wildlife, her beautiful fur babies - and a neighbouring cow or too! More recently she has also started experimenting with female imagery. Much of Fiona’s inspiration is based on people and things she thinks are awesome – friends and family, their kids and fashion icons - particularly from the 1960s.

Fiona’s designs are created for those searching for that little something special, those who value locally made products, original designs and high-quality product standards.

By following Resene paint colour trends and incorporating them into her work, Fiona is able to keep her work relevant to complement modern day interiors. She also uses the neutral tone ranges and has been trying the Resene metallic and special effects finishes.
