Christchurch
The Greening the Rubble team seem to have an endless list of clever ideas to add interest, creativity and a sense of optimism back into Christchurch.
Working with areas of rubble, they have added colour and activities where once there was none.
Projects include tetris style seating, as if someone uplifted the tetris pieces straight out of the game and tossed them onto the ground, and a plant exchange. Both are finished in bold Resene colours to bring a smile. The tetris seating was made from reclaimed timber and provides a great place to stop next to a bus stop in New Brighton. Volunteers from Italy, USA and Christchurch all came together to help make, paint and install the seats.
