Garden artworks
Recognising that it takes more than just plants to make a good garden, Colin Magee has delved into garden artwork as an escape from working indoors.
His own half acre section is a showpiece of how to combine manmade art with nature's beauty incorporating seven different places to sit depending on the weather, the guests and even your mood. Each spot is designed as a garden room with a unique theme and feel linking into the outdoor art. A highlight is an Australian Outback painting comprising thousands of dots and two months of painstaking work.
Most creations feature wrought iron, highlighted with brightly coloured screens developed using Resene testpots, selected for their extensive colour range and affordability when using multiple hues. With a favourite colour of Resene Spritzer just one indicator of impact, these works have distinct personalities reinforced by their colourings, giving lucky owners the perfect excuse to escape outdoors.
