This data sheet replaces all previous issues
Crown Wallboard Sealer is an easily sanded, water reducible first coat for plasterboard walls and air-dry stoppings designed to minimise porosity and textural differences
Good adhesion and binding of air-dried stoppings.
Minimum fibre-raising on paper.
Excellent holdout of topcoats.
Very good opacity.
Do not apply at temperatures below 10°C or when it is liable to drop below 10°C during the drying period.
Do not use to seal fibrous plaster. Use solventborne Resene Sureseal (see Data Sheet D42).
Not as good as Resene Sureseal (solventborne see Data Sheet D42 or waterborne see Data Sheet D42a) for stain resistance or wet adhesion.
Do not exceed the stated film thickness.

Clean the surface thoroughly to remove all dirt, dust and loose material. Ensure the surface is free from oil, grease and mould. If moss and mould are present, treat with Resene Moss & Mould Killer (see Data Sheet D80).
Ensure that the surface is sound and free from weak, powdery or under cured stoppings. Avoid sanding the paper surface as this will cause 'furring' and unacceptable textural differences in the finish. Where the paper surface has yellowed due to prolonged exposure to sunlight, use Resene Sureseal (solventborne see Data Sheet D42 or waterborne see Data Sheet D42a).
Consult the recommended specification – levels of plasterboard finish.
Refer to Resene Surface Information Preparation Data Sheets (SIPDS), available online at www.resene.com/datasheets, for full substrate specific surface preparation information.
All sanding dusts can be harmful. Always wear appropriate protection.
