How to make a mosaic pot

Instructions

How to make a mosaic plant pot:

Step 1 Step one
Apply a coat of Resene Terracotta Sealer to the inside and outside of the pot and it allow to dry.
Step 2 Step two
Measure the thickness of your pot's rim, and add to this, the thickness of your tiles. With the tile cutter, cut two of the blue tiles into strips as wide as the thickness of the rim and tiles combined.
Step 3 Step three
Cut the remaining tiles into 20mm strips and then use the tile nipper to cut both sets of strips into smaller rectangles.
Step 4 Step four
Attach the pieces made from the strips in step two around the rim of the pot as shown, fixing them into position with construction glue.
Step 5 Step five
When the glue used in step 4 is dry, turn the pot upside down and apply a row of blue 20mm blue tile pieces made from the steps cut in step three, as shown.
Step 6 Step six
Continue to apply rows of 20mm tile pieces around the pot, alternating rows of blue, aqua and yellow, as shown. Allow to dry.
Step 7 Step seven
Wearing latex gloves, mix grout. according to manufacturer's instructions, and work into the gaps between tiles as shown.
Step 8 Step eight
Wipe off excess grout with a damp sponge, (rinse it frequently in clean water). When grout and mosaic pot are dry, remove any powdery residue with a clean, dry cloth.
