Metallic statue

Mark Rayner transforms a plain concrete garden statue into a modern metallic masterpiece.

You will need: Concrete garden statue, stiff-bristled brush, paintbrush and a paint stirrer. Resene Concrete Primer, Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Raptor, Resene Enamacryl Metallic tinted to Resene Magnetic and Resene Clearcoat UVS.

Other ideas: You can also transform a plastic mannequin head into a stylish piece of indoor or outdoor art, but do make sure you ‘key’ the surface first with sandpaper and then apply one coat of Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer.

Terracotta pots and statues can also be transformed with Resene Metallic paint, but they will need sealing with Resene Terracotta Sealer before painting.
