Pebble mosaic

Mark Rayner makes a pretty pebble pot.

You will need: Bowl-shaped terracotta pot, Paintbrush, Weldbond PVA glue, Resene Terracotta Sealer and testpot of Resene Alabaster. Resene Concrete Clear, opaque and white glass pebbles (our's came from Mitre 10 Mega), Good quality potting mix and 3 white cyclamen plants.

To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Paua.

Step 1 Step one
Apply one coat of Resene Terracotta Sealer to the inside and outside of the terracotta pot and allow to dry for six hours.
Step 2 Step two
Apply two coats of Resene Alabasterto the outside and inner rim of the pot, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 3 Step three
Working with the pot upside down, attach one row of glass pebbles, as shown, fixing each one with a generous blob of PVA glue.
Step 4 Step four
Apply a second row of pebbles above the first.
Step 5 Step five
Apply a third and fourth row of pebbles around the pot, as shown.
Step 6 Step six
Continue working in this way until the pot is covered in glass pebbles. Leave to dry overnight.
Step 7 Step seven
Apply one coat of Resene Concrete Clear to the outer and inner rim of the pot, allow­ing two hours to dry.
Step 8 Step eight
Pot up with three white cyclamen plants and good quality potting mix.
