You will need:

Old galvanised watering can
Hammer and punch (or a large nail will do)
Resene Concrete Clear
Resene Galvo One galvanised iron primer
Resene testpots in the following colours: Resene Cornflower, Resene Bright Red, Resene Parsley
Paintbrushes and small artist's brush
Mineral turpentine
Red cyclamin and potting mix

Step one
Wash the watering can in warm soapy water. Rinse in clean water and dry thoroughly.

Step two
Using the hammer and punch, make five or six drainage holes in the bottom of the watering can.

Step three
Apply one coat of Resene Galvo One to the watering can and leave to dry for at least 12 hours. Wash the brush in mineral turpentine.

Step four
Apply two coats of Resene Cornflower to the watering can, allowing at least two hours drying time between coats.

Step five
Using a small artist's brush and Resene Parsley, paint stylised cyclamen stalks and leaves on the front and back of the watering can. Leave to dry.

Step six
Using the artist's brush and Resene Bright Red, paint in the petals, as shown. Allow to dry for at least two hours.

Step seven
Apply three coats of Resene Concrete Clear to the watering can, allowing two hours drying time between coats.

Step eight
Plant with a red cyclamen using good quality potting-mix.
