It’s easy to create this simple exterior shelf using treated timber battening and Resene Waterborne Woodsman timber stain.

Difficulty level: Moderate
You will need: 40mm galvanised nails, approx 5m of 25mm x 50mm treated timber battening, hammer, paintbrush, pencil, sandpaper, a saw and a tape measure. Resene Woodsman Penetrating Oil Stain tinted to Resene Nutmeg.
To get the look: Mark painted the plant pot with Resene Alabaster and Resene Wild Thing.
Other ideas: For a rich black effect stain the shelf with Resene Waterborne Woodsman tinted to Resene Pitch Black.
