Face pot

Encourage kids to get back to nature with this fun pot for growing plants.

Resene Toys and Games with Mark Rayner - Project 38

Difficulty level:  Easy

You will need

A green face pot option
An alternative colour option

A purple face pot option
Face pot plant pot

To get the look:  Mark painted the background shelf unit with Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Ballerina.

Other ideas:  For a green effect paint the pot with Resene Kermit, the lips with Resene Dizzy Lizzy, the eyes with Resene Tutti Frutti and Resene Wham, and the teeth with Resene Sherbert.

How to paint a terracotta face pot

Step 1 Step one
Apply one coat of Resene Aquapel & Terracotta Sealer to the inside and outside of the pot and allow to dry.
Step 2 Step two
Apply two coats of Resene Pukeko to the outside, top edge and inner rim of the pot, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 3 Step three
Paint eye shapes on the front of the pot using Resene Dancing Girl and allow to dry.
Step 4 Step four
Paint the lips, as shown, with Resene Get Reddy and allow to dry.
Step 5 Step five
Paint an iris in each eye with Resene Yowza and allow to dry.
Step 6 Step six
Paint the eye details, nose and mouth opening with Resene Black and allow to dry.
Step 7 Step seven
Paint the teeth with Resene Tomorrow and allow to dry.
Step 8 Step eight
Paint a highlight in each eye with Resene Alabaster and allow to dry.
