“I was inspired by the Argentinian tango which brings physical solidarity to those who perform the dance. When I first saw my colour Resene Tango I thought about the movie "Take the Lead". In this movie, a professional dancer teaches troubled students about the Tango and opens them to the idea of new beginnings and unity.

This is similar to Resene being established in 1946 after WW2 finishing in 1945.

My intention for this garment is to create a modern looking tango dress with openings to show that there are new paths that we can go down, but it still unites as one.

Resene Tango is vibrant, playful and energetic whether it’s a twist on the dance floor or a strut down the runway the colour would catch any eye. I created a dress that is a fashion forward tango dress, featuring cut-outs, asymmetrical lines and a low back.”
