“I have been lucky enough to get given the colour Resene Welcome. My first thought I had was of the outdoors and nature with the houses covered in green moss, weaving with flax.

With my ruffled collar and cuffs they have strong lines in them that reminded me of when I look at the tall strong branches holding themselves up no matter how strong the wind is blowing at them. It reminds me of my cousin Nikita who is a big inspiration in my life. She is always there when I need even when it’s less expected she holds not only her own family but also our family from near and far. Whenever she feels like the world is caving in on her she brings herself back up 10x stronger. She is the reason why I am the strong person I am to this day.

The moss that covers the house the gives me warmth and protection that has inspired me to put the ruffles at the hem of each layer reminds me of the home that I have created for my kids, a safe place that is warm and cosy.

The three layers of frills represent my little family – the first layer represents the baby of our pack, the second layer representing our big son our first seed the one who made us parents and the final layer representing me and my partner the foundation of this family and the gathers in each frill is what brings us all together as one.”
